Anthony’s defense lawyer asked the teen’s father about his character at Monday’s hearing. Anthony was a “A” student and the captain of his football and track teams, according to his father’s testimony.

Additionally, Anthony’s father informed the court that he is his family’s only provider and that he is unable to pay the $1 million bail.

During the hearing, Anthony’s father was also questioned by the prosecutors, who only provided the police report and no witnesses.

They inquired into a different “assault” that occurred on February 4th that included Anthony and was handled by Frisco ISD internally.

Prosecutors also asked why Anthony’s family hadn’t paid for his son’s bond using funds given via a fundraising account. To which Anthony’s father said, “We don’t have access to the money,”
