During the hearing, Anthony’s father was also questioned by the prosecutors, who only provided the police report and no witnesses.
They inquired about a different “assault” that occurred on February 4th that involved Anthony and was managed by Frisco ISD internally.
Prosecutors also asked why Anthony’s family hadn’t paid for his son’s bond with funds given through a fundraising account.
To which Anthony’s father said, “We don’t have access to the money,”
Since Anthony’s father is now on leave from work, defense lawyers contended that the $412,000 raised in the online account “is not a bond fund” and that the family needs it to make ends meet.
Defense lawyers informed the judge during closing arguments that, given Anthony’s clean record, it would be “unusual” to keep the $1 million bond in place.
