A year-long investigation found insufficient evidence to support the existence of an organized network of the kind she described, according to Detective Chief Superintendent Dean Holden.
“What I would say is, when the question is asked, ‘Is there an organised gang… conducting abuse or other exploitation against individuals?
Our investigation has shown that has not been corroborated or otherwise evidenced,” Holden stated.
Williams was also later arrested for breaching bail conditions after posting photos of her injuries on social media, which she said were from the abuse.
She expressed frustration with the police response, saying she was trying to speak up not only for herself but for other girls she believed were still in danger.
