They implied to her that Shane was a “dreadful choice,” and her husband acknowledged this by saying that he is aware that crippled persons like him “don’t have any value.”
Early on, I became really thick-skinned. Otherwise, I would be sad every day, therefore I believe that’s where my sense of humor and sarcasm came from.
Their bedroom life, which many assume must be inadequate, is part of it. They both disagree, however.
“My infirmity enhances our closeness. The fact that our closeness is about more than simply me enjoying it is important to me, and that connects to my burden complex,” Shane said.
