Vice President JD Vance is receiving criticism for his response to the May 18 announcement of former President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis.
President Trump and other political leaders provided support, but Vance’s remarks were widely denounced as opportunistic and unsuitable.
Aggressive, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer that has migrated to the bone has been identified in Biden, 82. His team claims that treatment can handle it despite its severity.
In a rare show of civility, Trump offered his condolences and wished Biden a quick recovery.
Vance, on the other hand, took the opportunity to cast doubt on Biden’s prior suitability for the position and to attack his administration’s openness about health-related matters.
Vance stated, “We can pray for good health, but we also recognize that you shouldn’t be doing the job if your health isn’t good enough to do it.”
