Jeffries: The Trump administration should be held in contempt by the Supreme Court for deporting a Salvadoran immigrant

On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said that the Trump administration’s deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia,

An illegal immigrant from El Salvador and former Maryland resident, should be considered for contempt by the Supreme Court.

A lower court’s decision to allow Abrego Garcia’s return from an El Salvadorian jail where federal authorities transported hundreds of gang members and suspected criminals.

Last month was affirmed by the Supreme Court on Thursday. “The Supreme Court has made clear that Mr. Abrego Garcia should not have been deported,” Jeffries said at a news conference.
