John Aprea, the star of “Godfather II,” has passed away at the age of 83.

In 1968, John made his acting début in Steve McQueen’s “Bullitt,” which was another classic. This was the beginning of his successful career.

He was featured in numerous television programs during the 1980s and 1990s, such as “Full House,” “The Gangster Chronicles,” “Falcon Crest,” and “Knots Landing.” What an impressive array of roles!

Aprea was cast as Nick Katsopolis, the father of John Stamos’ Uncle Jesse character. He reprised the role for the reboot, “Fuller House.”

He also served in two distinct roles on “Another World” for an extended period of time on daytime television.

In a heartfelt tribute to Aprea, his friend and erstwhile “Knots Landing” co-star Paul Carafotes wrote, “Many will miss this man.”
