Jordan Chiles, a gymnast from the United States, has been officially deprived of her bronze medal following a contentious decision.

Jordan Chiles, a gymnast from the United States, has been officially deprived of her bronze medal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The decision was made in response to allegations that Chiles had been incorrectly awarded the medal in place of Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu.

Chiles, 23, earned her first individual Olympic medal by winning the bronze medal in the floor final on August 5. She had initially placed fifth based on the judges’ scores.

Nevertheless, Cecile Landi, the coach of USA Gymnastics, promptly submitted an inquiry into the decision, asserting that Chiles’

performance had been emphasized for its difficulty, particularly for a vault that necessitated executing a split in the air while rotating 540 degrees.

After only one week, an Olympian has stunned admirers by disclosing the condition of his medal: “The quality is not as high as one would expect.”

The Air Force veteran, 90, who was observed pawning jewelry to provide care for his wife with dementia, has raised more than $340,000.
