Jordan Chiles may be required to return the bronze medal. The score on the floor exercise will be reviewed.

Jordan Chiles may be required to return one of her Olympic medals due to a review board’s determination that a challenge to her score should not have been permitted.

Chiles was initially awarded a score of 13.666 during the women’s floor exercise on Monday, which placed her fifth and just off the podium.

Initially disheartened, her instructors requested a review of the difficulty level, which the judges granted.

They raised her score by one-tenth of a point after reviewing the routine, thereby placing her in third place.
