For the first time in thirty-five years, Terry spoke up about her nephews, who were convicted killers, referring to them as “the boys that I didn’t have.”
“It’s a whole branch of my family erased,” Terry added, adding that she thinks it’s time for them to return to society. The children who are no longer with us and those who continue to pay for it.”
The brothers will have a resentencing hearing this week, but for now, they are serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder.
Terry stated that she makes every effort to visit her nephews, but it is challenging due to her advanced age and the fact that she resides in New Jersey.
Erik and Lyle are being held at San Diego County’s Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility.
To date, the notorious brothers have served 35 years in prison. Geragos wants their first-degree murder conviction to be overturned in favor of manslaughter.
