Many are accusing Marvel of “whitewashing” for casting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, after their previous casting of Iron Man.

Robert Downey Jr. stunned the San Diego Comic-Con audience on July 28 when he came out of the audience dressed as the villain and revealed his identity.

“New mask, same task,” the 59-year-old actor informed his gullible audience. What did I say? I like portraying multi-faceted roles.

Two films starring Doctor Doom, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) heavyweights like Avengers: Endgame were produced by the brothers.

This is what Joe told the Comic-Con audience: “When we directed Avengers: Endgame, we really believed it was the end for us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” according to Variety.

“That four-film run was absolutely mind-blowing, and it actually exhausted us creatively.” According to him, everything changed when the two discovered a “very special story” that prompted them to come back.
