In addition, Mariah acknowledged that there had been occasions when their relationship had been strained by professional envy,
which she described as “part of the territory of success, but when the person is your mother and the jealousy is revealed at such a tender age, it’s particularly painful.”
Over the years, Mariah has also been transparent about her complicated connection with her siblings,
stating in her book that it was “emotionally and physically safer for me not to have any contact” with either Morgan or Alison.
