“M*A*S*H” actor Loretta Swit passes away at age 87.

Famous for playing Maj. Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on the hit television program “M*A*S*H,” Loretta Swit passed away. Her age was eighty-seven.

Swit’s publicist, Harlan Boll, said she passed away early Friday morning in her New York City home from what seemed to be natural causes.

Before getting her most famous part in “M*A*S*H,” she had roles in a number of TV programs, including Gunsmoke, Mission Impossible, Hawaii Five-O, and Mannix.

Swit would remain on the program for all 11 seasons, costarring with Alan Alda (Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce).
