Mexico’s President Issues Heartfelt Statement After Two Sailors Die in Brooklyn Bridge Crash

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum has issued a sorrowful public statement following the tragic Brooklyn Bridge crash.

That claimed the lives of two Mexican Navy sailors and injured at least 22 others aboard the training ship Cuauhtémoc.

The accident unfolded around 9 p.m. Saturday, when the 160-foot-tall Cuauhtémoc, with 277 crew members aboard, collided with the Brooklyn Bridge during a ceremonial approach to New York Harbor.

According to CNN, two sailors were killed after falling from the ship’s towering masts onto the deck. At least 11 of the injured remain in critical condition.
