Michelle Obama Delivers a Startling New Year’s Address

According to some analysts, the 44th president’s remarks would be seen as outrageous conspiracy theories and “false claims” of “election fraud” if they were made by a Republican. Promotion

When the former president accused Republicans of doing things that Democrats have done when they are in power, including “politicizing” the military and “weaponizing” the Justice Department,

others criticized him for what they saw as obvious hypocrisy. During the address, Obama said that pluralism is dependent on everyone adhering to a set of standards.

“What happens when the opposing side has made it clear time and time again that they have no interest in following the rules?”

Obama seemed to realize mid-sentence that he was stepping too close to revealing his party’s and his own future political goals when he remarked,

“There are going to be times potentially when one side tries to stack the deck and lock in [pause] a permanent grip on power.”
