Fortunately, surgeons performed a novel and inventive operation that saved the woman and her kid thanks to modern medicine. Lucy said of her sonographer at her 12-week checkup,
“She just went really quiet.” According to the BBC, Lucy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 12 weeks of pregnancy. Lucy recalls the moment she realized things wasn’t quite right.
She added, “The sonographer explained everything to us, and the baby looked very healthy, and then she just went really quiet.”
“Adam and I were just staring at each other for a few minutes, thinking, ‘Oh my goodness, something’s clearly a little off and she’s not happy.'”
