When confronted, Bondrescu denied knowing the girl, but a search of the premises revealed the teen, frightened and hiding in a closet.
According to the arrest affidavit, she and Bondrescu first connected online in November 2024 through a social app and later continued conversations on another platform.
They eventually planned her departure from Missouri, and Bondrescu rented a vehicle, picked her up at night, and drove to Colorado while avoiding toll roads—likely to stay off surveillance.
Once in Colorado, he allegedly carried her into his house under cover and told her to change her appearance.
The teen reported being permitted outside only a few times and was instructed to wear a mask and sunglasses when she did.
