Authorities say she was made to assist with Bondrescu’s snow removal business, FoCo Sno GO, performing labor while keeping her identity hidden.
She told police that her identification and phone were taken and destroyed, severing her ability to reach out for help.
Bondrescu’s critical error came when he gave her one of his old phones, unaware it still had Instagram installed. That device enabled the message that ultimately led to her discovery and rescue.
The teen described the psychological control she was under—by January or February, she had asked to go home, but Bondrescu refused, saying he couldn’t afford it.
When asked why she didn’t flee, she said she didn’t know anyone nearby and had no way to escape.
The affidavit outlines how she was kept under close watch, isolated, and stripped of identification to make her effectively invisible.
