Mom, 78, passed away after consuming a single cookie from the grocery store.

Sadly, Bryant passed away from anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal allergic reaction, an hour after being taken to the hospital.

Bryant’s son-in-law, Greg Bishop, also mentioned that the King County Coroner said her “blood vessels had basically broken down.”

Following the loss of their mother, Bryant’s family announced on Thursday that they had sued Safeway for wrongful death.

Safeway’s parent company, Albertsons Companies, Inc., voluntarily recalled oatmeal and raisin cookies sold at the

Duvall location nearly a month after the tragedy because of a “undeclared peanut and soy allergen,” according to a recall notice from the Food and Drug Administration, as the New York Post reported.

The 18-count cookies that were marketed from April 5 through April 17, 2023, were the subject of the recall.
