A mother’s terrifying ordeal began with what she thought was a simple wasp sting — but when her young son’s body started turning blue, she realized something far more dangerous had happened.
Elisabeth Nordgarden, the mother of 3-year-old Kristoffer, was enjoying a visit to family when the toddler came running to her crying in pain after playing barefoot outside.
Like many young children, Kristoffer loves being outdoors — but this innocent playtime turned into a life-threatening emergency in minutes.
“At first, we thought it was a wasp sting or maybe a scratch from a branch,” Elisabeth told Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
She cradled her son on her lap, thinking it was a minor injury — but within 15 minutes, his foot began to swell and turn blue. Alarmed, Elisabeth immediately called emergency services.
