Mom’s life was “perfect,” until the school bus killed her daughter. She’s Still Fighting for Justice Three Years Later (Exclusive)

Tori Sayre will never stop recalling April 25, 2022. For the Sayre family of Brock, Texas, Monday was just another typical day—warm and sunny—but it also marked the division of their life into “before” and “after.”

Tori, 35, tells PEOPLE, “When you go through something like that, you replay that day over and over again.” “I know that day by heart.”

Two of their elder brothers, Brady and Kyle, were taking the school bus home from kindergarten that afternoon with their youngest daughter, Emory, who is six years old.

Her other brother, Peyton, remained at school to play football. Emory, a competitive dancer, gymnast, softball player, and runner, was petite but powerful. She had only turned six weeks prior.

“She had a lot of energy,” remembers Tori. She enjoyed roughhousing and playing sports, but she also had a very feminine side.

A couple is accused of beating a five-year-old over homework because they were upset and “colored outside the lines.”

The beloved gospel singer and “Hee Haw” star Lulu Roman passed away at the age of 78.
