A charming little Georgia child suffered serious burns after accidentally scalding his face with an air fryer he had retrieved from a nearby counter.
On Tuesday night, Ryder Flanagan ‘as soon as it dinged,’ according to his mother Abigail, causing significant burns to his hands and face. The incident occurred on the family’s kitchen counter.
He was treated with stem cells and bandaged up after his parents, Blake and his mom, hurried him to Wellstar Cobb Burn Center. His severe burns will need ongoing therapy, even though he was discharged from the burn unit.
The appliance was not resting on the edge of the counter when the mishap happened, according to Abigail, who spoke to DailyMail.com.
It was necessary to remove all of his burned skin and transplant stem cells into its place, she said, so it could mend.
“He is his calm/happy self, bless god,” Abigail said on Friday on Facebook. Ryder had stem cell transplant surgery on Thursday, which required sedation.
The National Library of Medicine reports that stem cells hasten the healing of burn wounds. The medication may be administered directly into the bloodstream or placed in a natural or artificial scaffold, according to the FDA.

Hester said that Blake, who has been unemployed as of late, would miss taking Ryder to his rehabilitation sessions since Abigail is a stay-at-home parent.
