‘Murder-suicide’ claims the lives of a woman and a small son in a picturesque home in a quiet New Hampshire forest.

In a terrifying incident, a woman from New Hampshire shot and killed her three-year-old son and herself inside their idyllic home in the woods, according to police.

The tragedy occurred just after midnight on Friday when the survivor of a suspected murder-suicide alerted Pembroke Police Department officers to a $400,000 house.

When police arrived, they discovered 26-year-old Julia Byrne dead inside the house next to her baby boy Blake, who had also been shot, according to authorities.

Officers arrived to the family’s cottage, which is located in a remote area surrounded by a forest close to Pembroke Hill Road, according to the Pembroke Police Department.

Before discovering Julia and Blake injured in her bedroom, an unnamed witness said to police that they heard two gunshots in the house at approximately one in the morning.
