Authorities claim that after she reportedly discarded the body, Landon went to a police station and requested to be taken to a nearby hospital, where she was found the next day.
Several witnesses testified on Wednesday, detailing the treatment Bella endured in the house she lived with Michael and Landon.
For the first time, Bella’s sister spoke out about the fateful night two years ago, claiming that Landon would often send Bella to time-out “for no reason” while ruthlessly disregarding the young girl’s protests.
According to Bella’s sister’s testimony, Landon woke her up the night before her sibling was discovered dead and informed her that she was heading to Florida. Bella was gone by the following morning.
Bella’s maternal grandmother, Gladis Zeledon, also spoke, sobbing as she described, via a translator, the last time she saw her granddaughter alive.
Zeledon told the court, echoing Bella’s sister’s testimony, that the young girl would frequently comment, “Ms. Hannah is mean,” and that she didn’t love her—remarks that were concerning.
