A peaceful evening at a petting zoo in rural South Carolina took a deadly turn when a man entered the kangaroo’s enclosure and was fatally mauled by it.
The Horry County Police Department reports that 52-year-old Eric Slate was discovered dead shortly after midnight on Saturday morning.
With “multiple blunt force injuries” inside a kangaroo and wallaby enclosure at 5 Star Farm.
According to Fox 8 News, Horry County councilman Dennis DiSabato verified that a kangaroo was directly engaged in the incident, even though the precise cause of death is still pending autopsy results.
What the individual was doing inside the enclosure on Saturday was not quite clear.
