When police arrived to Lacy’s car, they discovered him dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office verified that Lacy had wrecked the vehicle.
His father, Kenny Lacy, has now released a devastating letter encouraging parents to have candid conversations about mental health.
“Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you,” stated the author.
“When you know in your heart that something isn’t right, don’t be cool with saying, ‘I’m good, or I’m okay.’… Don’t overlook the indicators, even if they appear minor; mental health is real and mostly invisible.
“This will never be okay since our lives have altered forever, but God needed my baby more than he needed him here. Our family’s love and compassion will get us through this,
