NHL Player Johnny Gaudreau Died at the Age of 31; Suspected Drunk Driver Killed Him

 

On Thursday night, while riding on a road in rural Oldmans Township, South Jersey, Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were involved in a collision with a moving car, according to the police.

Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, according to police, and the driver remained at the site.

Called “Johnny Hockey” by his supporters, Gaudreau played in the NHL for 11 seasons, nine of which he spent with the Calgary Flames.

The Columbus Blue Jackets, where Johnny played his last two seasons, released a statement on Friday morning on his sudden passing.
