Women who reported lower levels of sexual desire were 1.7% more likely to have died by the end of 2015 from any cause than women who reported higher levels of sexual want.
Additionally, a correlation was found between a woman’s risk of death and her sex count. Although males did not exhibit the same reaction,
the research did discover that sex had a “modifying relationship” on depression in both sexes. Those with depression were found to have almost a threefold increased risk of dying during
the follow-up period if they did not engage in regular sex. “Individuals with depression but high sexual frequency don’t feel
harmful effects of depression as much,” Dr. Srikanta Banerjee, main author of the research, told DailyMail.com.
