Obamas formally back Harris’s presidential campaign: “Everything in our power will be directed toward ensuring her victory.”

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has received the formal endorsement of Barack and Michelle Obama. The election is scheduled for November.
Instead of backing Harris, Obama seemed to advocate for an open primary when President Biden decided not to seek reelection.

Obama spoke highly of Biden, calling him a “dear friend and partner” and calling him one of “America’s most consequential presidents.”

His words were filled with praise for Biden’s leadership and withdrawal, which he called “right for America” and a “historic example of a genuine public servant once again putting the interests of the American people ahead of his own.”
