Off the coast of Northern California, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded; a tsunami warning was discontinued.

According to the US Geological Survey, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 was recorded off the coast of Northern California on Thursday.

According to the USGS, the “strong” earthquake’s epicenter occurred in Humboldt County, off the coast close to Petrolia.

Additionally, just before noon local time, a tsunami warning that had been issued for coastal regions in California and Oregon, including San Francisco, was rescinded.

According to the National Tsunami Warning Center, “The tsunami Warning is canceled for the coastal areas of California and Oregon,” was posted on X.

“No tsunami danger presently exists for this area.” According to the National Tsunami Warning Center, the warning has been in force from Douglas/Lane Line, Oregon, to Davenport, California.
