Titus traveled to California Pacific Medical Center’s emergency room, where five staples were used to repair the six-inch cut on the back of his skull.
As expected, he also experienced a serious concussion and had fragmented memories of the assault.
When the medical personnel saw the man’s head cut and heard his account, they made Titus submit a police report, which his insurance would also require.
During his 10-hour hospital stay, he waited until approximately 11 p.m., but no officers arrived. Disappointed and disheartened, Titus posted pictures of his wounds and the account of his attack on social media.
He claims that a few police captains eventually contacted him to assist with filing the report shortly after he made the post.
I’ve lived in San Francisco intermittently for many years, and during that time I’ve never been robbed or attacked by an unknown individual.
Given that I’m in the city I love, it seemed a little unsettling,” Titus, who was anticipated to require many weeks of recuperation, added.
