Parents claim that medical professionals are to blame for the adorable toddler’s agonizing death after being bitten by fire ants.

The parents of a cute two-year-old who died after suffering a severe allergic response to fire ants have sued the hospital, claiming that the personnel might have saved their child’s life.

On October 7, 2024, Maya Getahun, 2, was attacked by ants while playing in her front yard, prompting her parents, Bethelhem Getu Hundie and Getahun Birhanu, to take her to the medical department.

Now, Maya’s parents are suing Piedmont Eastside Medical Center, a hospital located in the Atlanta suburb of Snellville, Georgia.

The hospital personnel allegedly waited more than 20 minutes to deliver epinephrine, a medication used to treat severe allergic responses or anaphylaxis, according to the lawsuit, which was filed by lawyers at Bell Law Firm.

According to the lawsuit, Maya’s condition deteriorated because medical officials failed to give her the life-saving medication despite knowing she needed it.

In addition to the staff’s purported tardiness, Dr. Richisa Salazar, Maya’s doctor, was charged with being unaware that the hospital lacked the tools required to care for the youngster.

After 17 years, the boy who testified that his mother killed his sister comes forward.
