Some members of Hollywood’s elite are among the more than 100,000 individuals who have been forced to leave their homes.
Strong wind gusts of up to 70 mph have contributed to the original wildfire in the US state going out of control.
Consequently, as the fire raged across Los Angeles, demolishing homes and destroying everything in its path, the governor of California proclaimed a state of emergency.
According to the BBC, there are already at least six wildfires, one of which is spreading across the wealthy Pacific Palisades district.
