TMZ has verified the passing of Peter Marshall, a renowned game show host who was most notably recognized for his tenure on “Hollywood Squares.”
The publicist of the host posted a statement on Thursday, stating that the host passed away from renal failure at his Encino residence, surrounded by his loved ones.
In the mid-1960s, Peter secured his most renowned position by accepting an offer to host “Hollywood Squares,
” a comedic tic-tac-toe-like game that featured nine celebrities and two contestants. From 1966 to 1981, he served as the presenter of over 6,000 episodes.
In 1981, PM quit the program to pursue Broadway roles, despite winning four Daytime Emmys for ‘HS’. His desire to act remained unwavering.
