Plane Crash in San Diego Claims Lives of Drummer Daniel Williams and Talent Agent Dave Shapiro

“Our priority is ensuring all homes are cleared and no one is trapped. The scene is extensive, with a gigantic debris field. It was very foggy—you could barely see in front of you.”

Victims Identified

Dave Shapiro, 42, was a well-known talent agent and a central figure in the alternative and rock music scenes.

As co-founder of Sound Talent Group, Shapiro helped shape the careers of artists like Sum 41, Story of the Year, and Hanson.

A statement from the agency confirmed that three of their employees were among the victims, including Shapiro. The identities of the other two have not yet been publicly released.

“We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends,” the company said in a statement to the BBC.
