Police are presently looking into reports that Sara Sharif’s father was assaulted when he was incarcerated.
Urfan Sharif and Beinash Batool, Sara’s stepmother, were found guilty of murdering the 10-year-old at their Surrey home and were given a life sentence.
On August 10, 2023, Sara was discovered dead in her family home after her father, Urfan, contacted the police to report that he had murdered his daughter and abandoned her corpse at a Woking,
UK residence. Urfan further acknowledged responsibility for the child’s death in a letter that authorities subsequently found close to her corpse.
Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, was convicted guilty of causing or permitting a child’s death but not guilty of murder, although the father and stepmother were found guilty of murder.
