Police say a fourth child could be found soon, and the search for the mother who left three babies in London has shrunk to 400 residences.

A specialized team from the National Crime Agency (NCA), comprising behavioral investigative advisers and geographical profilers, has assisted the police inquiry.

The 400 homes’ occupants are not required to submit DNA samples, and the NCA is influencing the inquiries that officers make when they knock on people’s doors.

During the house-to-house investigations, Metropolitan Police officers have been accompanied by agency investigators.

According to Noel McHugh, national senior investigating officer consultant for the South East at the NCA, the case was “deeply troubling.”

And given the circumstances of their abandonment, it was a “miracle” that the children survived.

He did, however, add that the solution “is in the community” and that the instance had certain “really unique signatures” that made it “solvable and detectable.”
