Aber is “unmatched as a leader, mentor, and prosecutor,” according to her successor, U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert, who also said that she is “just irreplaceable as a human being.”
We are still amazed at everything that she managed to do in her much too short life. Siebert also commended her commitment, saying,
“She set the standard with her professionalism, grace, and legal acumen.” Despite our sadness at this loss, we at EDVA will all try to follow her example and uphold that standard.
Her accomplishments were also recognized by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, who emphasized her involvement in the violence prevention program Ceasefire Virginia:
“Her work with Ceasefire Virginia saved more lives than we may ever realize.” Her family is in our prayers and thoughts this week.
