Escobar was renowned for promoting sustainability, fostering innovation in rail technology, and accelerating digital transformation in extensive transportation networks.
He also had a corporate strategy position in New York earlier in his career, which strengthened his ties to the crash site.
The global engineering and transportation community has been saddened by his passing as well as those of his wife and kids.
