Reports state that Miho Nakayama was discovered dead in her home bathtub.

“I liked her since I was a teenager,” a devoted admirer told NHK. She was always gorgeous and shining, and I remember copying her haircut a lot. It’s unbelievable that she’s dead.

Another said: “She was a tremendous source of strength and the same age as me.” There are no words to express how sorry and dissatisfied I am.

“Thank you for everything,” is what I want to say to her. At the age of 14, Nakayama made her acting debut in the comedy Maido Osawagaseshimasu in 1985.

She then starred with Takuya Kimura in critically praised television series, including A Sleeping Forest (1998).

With single like Tada Nakitaku no and Sekaijuu no Dare Yori Kitto, a duet with the rock band Wands, her music career also took off.

For her first single, she won the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist. After marrying musician Hitonari Tsuji in 2002 and relocating to Paris.

Where she concentrated on raising their son, Nakayama took a temporary hiatus from the public eye.

She eventually went back to Japan and started acting again, making an appearance in a movie in 2010. We are sending our condolences to Nakayama’s family and followers at this trying time.
