Rescue workers discover a ‘much liked’ 21-year-old coworker among the victims of a deadly motorcycle collision.

It was only after arriving at the site of the tragic incident that firefighters learned the fatality was a fellow firefighter. The East Lothian crash that killed 21-year-old Glenn Campbell included a tanker and a motorbike.

The accident, which occurred between Dirleton and Drem villages, was attended to by several people, including his fellow firefighters.

At around 7.45am on Wednesday last week, they were sent out after a collision between a red Scania truck and Mr. Campbell’s green Kawasaki ZX 900E1.

The driver of the tanker was reportedly unharmed, according to Police Scotland, while Mr. Campbell was pronounced deceased at the spot.

The firefighting world is in shock at the incident, and tributes are flooding in for Mr. Campbell. ‘Well regarded and liked’ is the way Area Commander Marc Pincombe put it while describing the crew member.
