Following a social media post by former FBI Director James Comey that many saw as a veiled threat against President Donald Trump.

Thursday’s Instagram picture by Comey featured a shell arrangement on a beach spelling “86 47.” The post was swiftly removed, but not before causing a lot of criticism and federal government inquiry.
“86” is generally understood as slang meaning “eliminate,” and “47” is allusion to Trump, the 47th president of the United States.
Examining the post were the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and Secret Service. According to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the picture was seen as a “direct threat” to President Trump’s life.
