Seaswell causes shipwreck on Mykonos beach, wounding visitors; captain faces arrest

Reportedly, a ship triggered a big wave that swept across the beach, injuring several vacationers in Mykonos.

Upon Sunday’s (21 July) arrival at the port of Rafina in mainland Greece, the Fast Ferries Andros vessel reportedly

left two passengers wounded and had its skipper detained, according to local media site Vradini. A video of the terrifying event has gone viral on social media.

It captures the exact moment when the alleged boat-caused wave reached the whole length of the beach, prompting everyone in the water to quickly exit for safety.

The terrible footage continues with water enveloping the shoreline as tourists’ possessions are carried away by the waves.
