Troy Teske, a former police officer, allegedly supplied the bullets to the sheriff’s office in March. The guy was friends with Thell Reed, who happened to be Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s stepfather and a Rust armorer.
It is believed that Teske brought the rounds to the sheriff’s office on the same day that the 27-year-old was convicted guilty of involuntary manslaughter in March.
Prosecutor Kari Morrissey rebutted this by stating that the concealed Colt 45 ammo was unrelated to the case.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office’s Corporal Alexandria Hancock and Lieutenant Ryan Randall, as well as prop store owner Seth Kenney,
who supplied blanks and dummy rounds to the Rust set, were testifying before Judge Marlowe Sommer. Sommer determined that the prosecutors and police had committed misconduct by withholding this evidence.
