Said to be performing a nonviolent sit-in protest about inadequate living circumstances at their so-called ‘care home’ in Khamis Mushair, in Asir Province, were women shown in the clip.
Police and security guards at the “Social Education Home for Girls” are shown sprinting in and striking the woman; some are laying motionless on the ground.
Women were witnessed being physically abused in numerous ways, pulled by their hair, battered with belts and sticks.
Originally released in 2022, the film infuriated Saudi Arabia’s rights activists and resurfaced as former detainees boldly shared their experiences housed in ‘Dar al-Reaya’ facilities all throughout the nation.
