In his speech to the country, newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney mentioned President Donald Trump in a matter of minutes.
The 60-year-old, who took over the position from former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last month after he declared his intention to resign after ten years in office, will make the position his own.
“Humility is also about realizing that one of the responsibilities of government is to prepare for the worst, not hope for the best.”
The Liberal Party leader stated in an early-morning speech to his supporters in Ottawa on April 29.
“America will never take our country, our resources, our land, or our water, as I have been warning for months.
“However, these threats are not in vain; President Trump is attempting to destroy us so that America may own us, but that will never, ever take place.
