Shanon has participated in a limited number of interviews throughout the years, during which she has addressed
her troubled relationship with her children. Previously, she disclosed that she did not see her children for six years following their adoption by Nellie and Ron.
“When we signed the adoption papers, it was as though my father flipped a switch on me—no communication, no calls, and no visits.”
“That is the way it was at the outset,” she stated to the Daily Mail. “It was difficult to relinquish my children, but I was compelled to do so because I was unable to provide for them.”
“I was still using, and he did not want me to be in and out of their lives when I was not feeling well.” Shanon has since conducted another interview with the Daily Mail this week.
