Divers pulled five individuals out of the water, but they were declared dead at the site. According to a Facebook announcement from the Royal Thai Police,
A sixth individual passed away later in the hospital. The Royal Thai Police were the aircraft’s operators, as shown by its registration, N964VK.
To find out what caused the tragedy, authorities are looking into the aircraft’s black box data recorder. Officials said the incident occurred during a parachute practice test flight.
“The Royal Thai Police extend their sincere condolences to the courageous officers who lost their lives,” stated Kitrat Phanphet, Chief of Police for the National Police.
“Funeral arrangements will be made for the victims, and their families will receive close support,” he said. “A thorough investigation into the cause of the crash has been ordered.”
