Due to the tumultuous circumstances surrounding his arrest, Routh was charged with attempted criminal murder in December.
The pursuit, which allegedly resulted in a car wreck that injured a little girl, led to the closure of Florida’s Interstate 95.
Federal prosecutors accused Routh just last week of trying to acquire a rocket launcher via a Ukrainian contact as part of the purported assassination plan.
“Send me a rpg [rocket-propelled grenade] or stinger, and I’ll see what we can do,” Routh instructed his associate. According to court documents that Fox News was able to obtain, “[Trump] is not good for Ukraine.”
