Tens of thousands are evacuating as a wildfire rages in the Pacific Palisades: Updates

 

Cal Fire reported that warnings and evacuation orders had been issued for portions of Altadena and Pasadena.

“High winds are driving rapid fire growth, posing a significant threat to nearby communities and making containment efforts challenging,” warned Cal Fire.

“Firefighters are working aggressively to slow the spread and protect critical infrastructure under extreme conditions.”

President Biden was informed on wildfires in California. The White House says Biden has been in communication with state and local authorities and has been briefed on the wildfires in California.

Biden said in a statement that “I have offered any federal assistance that is needed to help suppress the terrible Pacific Palisades fire,”

Adding that the state of California has already received approval for a federal grant to help pay for its fire response. “I implore the people of the Pacific Palisades and the neighbouring regions.
